Case Study: For The Food – Lettering Work Pencil Sketches
It all starts with pencil sketches…We’re traditional artists, and so when a customer asks for something custom, nothing less than pencil and eraser will do the job. Some contemporary designers like to draw in digital, and we’ve done plenty of digital sketching, when the job calls for it. But we prefer the old school approach of pencil and paper. It also gives us room to stretch out and try a variety of styles, with out being bound to any software program. Once we have a basic direction pinned down, then these serve as the guide for any tracing work that might follow.
This lettering spread is for a parent company that manages several high quality restaurants on the CT shoreline. A lot of fun to explore design options and lettering styling. Worth a share at least. Stay tuned for the finished vector work coming soon…
